King Abdulaziz Camel Festival Announces Winner of Saddle (Al-Shidad) Award

Al-Sayahed, outskirts of Riyadh, Jan. 18, 2022, SPA -- At its concluding session, the sixth King Abdulaziz Camel Festival announced the ranking of winners of Saddle (Al-Shidad) Award. The festival was held in Southern Al-Sayahed, northeastern of Riyadh, between December 01, 2021, and January 12, 2022, attracting many economic, entertainment and tourist camel and desert lovers. The festival's administration introduced “Al-Shidad Owner” for the first time, the only award that relies on collecting points through individual or group camels and does not count on direct encounters. Al-Shidad is announced when winning for three consecutive times and moves to another in every edition. Al-Shidad Award contributed to a big competitive and economic movement that witnessed fierce competition between Dabbous bin Mubarak Al-Dabbous, Kuwaiti participant, and Hamad bin Oudah Al-Mirri, Saudi participant. This competition played a big role in opening bigger aspects for camel owners and breeders through million-worth deals in the fields of selling and renting to enter the competition in individual and camel competitions with the aim of collecting the biggest number of points to win Al-Shidad Award. The festival's administration designed the award with the shape of saddle, put on camels during travels, and was made in Italy especially for this competition. Al-Dabbous was crowned winner of Al-Shidad Award after collecting 785 points during the 6th King Abdulaziz Camel Festival, 11 points higher than his competitor Al-Mirri.
