Riyadh, Jan 2, 2022, SPA -- The Ministry of Culture launched an audio podcast entitled "1949" that deals with cultural issues and discusses them in various formats to reflect what is going on in the Saudi cultural sector with its 16 various sub-sectors. The podcast "1949" will deal in each episode a topic belonging to one of these sectors before discussing it with a professional critic. The first episode of the podcast dealt with the field of cinema and filmmaking, under the title "Why are we affected by films", presented by film critic Abdulaziz Al-Zamil, in which he talked about the superior expressive tools that films possess, which make them able to influence the audience and capture their feelings and emotions. The name of the podcast “1949” came from the year in which a royal decree was issued setting the general framework for radio in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as that year represented the starting point for Saudi radio. The podcast “1949” seeks to be a key point in keeping pace with the Saudi cultural scene, and expressing its issues and developments moment by moment.
