Palestinian Foreign Ministry Congratulates Saudi Arabia for Success of GCC Summit, Welcomes Outcomes on Palestine

Ramallah, December 15, 2021, SPA -- The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates has congratulated the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the success of the summit of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) for Arab States and welcomed its outcomes on Palestine. The ministry congratulated Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, GCC Supreme Council, GCC leaders on the success of the 42nd session of the GCC Supreme Council and its outcomes. The ministry also welcomed the final communique that was issued by the meeting that was held in Riyadh under the presidency of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, and welcomed the honest and brotherly position that was included in the communique towards the Palestinian issue, its centrality and the support of the sovereignty of the Palestinian people on all the occupied lands since 1967, establishing an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, and guaranteeing the refugees’ rights according to the Arab Peace Initiative and relevant international legitimacy resolutions. The ministry also welcomed the Supreme Council’s call to activate the efforts of the international community to reach a solution to the conflict in a way that meets all the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people according to these bases, and its call for an immediate international intervention to stop targeting the Palestinian presence in Jerusalem and what the holy city is going through of expulsion and attempts to tamper with its landmarks and legal status, in addition to the Supreme Council’s rejection to all unilateral procedures perpetrated by the occupation state against Palestinian people, their land, holy sites and assets, including colonization and building settlements.
