Riyadh, Jan 05, 2022, SPA -- Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of issues at local, regional and international arenas. Al-Bilad newspaper reported in its editorial that the piracy is an act of terrorism and a crime condemned according to international laws. Piracy is usually associated with the behavior of gangs and militias that practice their acts and activities to control over the capabilities of countries and peoples, as it is happening in Lebanon and Yemen now, the paper said. The Houthi militia's piracy by kidnapping a commercial cargo ship (Rawabi) carrying equipment for Saudi field hospital on Socotra land is a flagrant violation of the principles of international humanitarian law and the relevant maritime laws, the paper added. In this regard, the Coalition to restore Legitimacy in Yemen warned that the Iran-backed terrorist Houthi militia must release the ship with its full cargo, and in case of non-compliance, the ports used for harboring the piracy, kidnapping, armed robbery and elements of maritime piracy that took place, will be legitimate military targets in accordance with the relevant provisions of international law, the paper concluded. -- SPA 09:38 LOCAL TIME 06:38 GMT 0006 www.spa.gov.sa/w1674144
