Council of Economic and Development Affairs Discusses Number of Economic Issues

Riyadh, Sep 28, 2021, SPA -- Council of Economic and Development Affairs held a meeting today, Tuesday, via video conference. During the meeting, the Council reviewed a number of economic and development issues, including the report submitted by the Ministry of Health regarding the latest health developments related to the coronavirus (COVID-19), which included a detailed report on the Kingdom's epidemiological update, the status of Intensive Care Units and the developments of services being provided, in addition to the latest administration of coronavirus vaccines. The council also discussed the report submitted by the Ministry of Economy and Planning regarding the most prominent economic indicators, as the report included an analysis of point-of-sale operations, the consumer and wholesale price index, the purchasing managers' index, labor market data, foreign trade data and the most important views. During the meeting, the council was briefed on the report submitted by the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture regarding the water sector, which aims to develop a sustainable water sector that develops and preserves the water resources and environment, provides safe supply of water with high-quality and efficient services, that contributes to economic and social development and the strategic objectives of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's Vision (2030) related to the water sector.
