Jeddah, February 03, 2022 SPA -- The city of NEOM will host the first round of the second season of the global “Extreme E” races for electric SUVs on February 19 and 20, 2022. NEOM represents the ideal destination for this type of racing due to its geographical diversity, vast desert, and spectacular sandstone formations. The second season of the Extreme E Race includes five rounds around the world, aiming to highlight the impact of climate change and human interference in some of the most remarkable, remote locations in the world and promote the adoption of electric vehicles in the fight to help preserve the environment and protect the planet. NEOM’s hosting of the race coincides with the Kingdom’s efforts to achieve global leadership in harnessing and investing in sustainable technologies to protect its unique natural resources, in line with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, which aims to reduce dependence on oil.
