Riyadh, August 12, 2021, SPA -- The General Entertainment Authority (GEA) has issued a new set of guidelines and requirements for the entry of children to entertainment events as part of its role in organizing recreational events in accordance with the necessary COVID-19 precautionary measures and after closely coordinating with the Public Health Authority (SaudiCDC). As per the new guidelines, children under the age of 12 are exempt from the requirements of having been fully vaccinated or recovered from the virus infection and can attend outdoor entertainment events. At the same time, GEA’s new regulation is contingent on the conditions that the children are accompanied by fully vaccinated guardians, they do not show any influenza-like symptoms (fever, cough, runny nose, sore throat), and their status on the Tawakkalna App shows “Uninfected” or “Not Exposed.” Accordingly, GEA has maintained that children will still be denied entry into entertainment events held indoors and that only those who have taken a single dose or two doses of the vaccine or who have achieved immunity after full recovery can attend such events. With a highly organized approach relying on the individual’s status on Tawakkalna App, GEA had previously issued regulations mandating that access to entertainment events is only granted to fully vaccinated people. Furthermore, it has set the attendance limit at 40% capacity for outdoor entertainment events, while also requiring attendees to adhere to the preventive measures from social distancing and wearing masks to sanitization and making sanitizers available in all the areas within the venue. --SPA 11:22 LOCAL TIME 08:22 GMT 0009 www.spa.gov.sa/w1599775
