Expenditure and Project Efficiency Authority: Government bodies contributed to achieving SAR 120 billion surplus in 2021

Riyadh, December 13, 2021, SPA -- CEO of the Expenditure and Project Efficiency Authority (EXPRO) Eng. Abdulrazzaq Al-Aujan has stressed that the State General Budget for 2022 expresses a wise vision that reflects the keenness of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's leadership to empower and sustain the economy, realize the prosperity of the homeland and provide the requirements of a decent life for citizens, with emphasis on the importance of further enhancing the expenditure efficiency, preserving financial sustainability and developing infrastructure projects. He added that government institutions, since the launch of the Saudi Vision 2030, have contributed to releasing savings of more than SAR530 billion, including SAR120 of savings in 2021, where these savings have been redirected to expenditures that serve the development targets, and priority schemes for the interest of citizens and homeland and reduce the days of implementing projects in a general way with over 3,500 days. Eng. Al-Aujan reviewed top achievements realized by government institutions during 2021, saying: "The authority in 2021 launched its plans and program and sought to enhance cooperation with various government institutions to realize the joint development goals concerned with increasing the expenditure efficiency, preserving quality standards and developing the quality of government projects in a way that contributes to realizing expenditure efficiency and completing qualitative projects according to their scheduled timelines." --SPA 15:20 LOCAL TIME 12:20 GMT 0011 www.spa.gov.sa/w1664599
