Deputy Haj Minister Inaugurates Constituent Assembly for Haj Mutawwifin of Southeast Asia Pilgrims

Makkah, June 17, 2021, SPA – Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah Dr. Abdul Fattah Mashat inaugurated yesterday the first constituent assembly of Hajj mutawwifin of Southeast Asia pilgrims after completing legal requirements to establish the company and issuing its business registration. This step is in implementation of the bylaw of service providers for foreign pilgrims and as stipulated in Item 3 of the Royal Decree that “institutions of heads of sects must rectify their status in a way that accords with the bylaw of service providers of foreign pilgrims” so that to guarantee developing the Hajj and Umrah sector and improving it in a bid to realize hopes and aspirations in light of the (serving visitors of mosques) program affiliated with the Saudi Vision 2030. Mashat said that “Changing institutions of heads of sects into shareholding companies is a strategic transformation that plays a role in improving the level of service and developing the Hajj and Umrah sector, as well as improving it in a way that contributes to its development according to hopes and aspirations in light of (serving visitors of mosques) program affiliated with the Kingdom's Vision 2030. He pointed out that the bylaw aims, at the first place, to develop the capabilities of workers in serving visitors of mosques and restructuring companies of heads of sects to change from institutions of individuals into companies through capitalizing and improving their governance, in addition to classifying their services in terms of quality and quantity. -- SPA 10:06 LOCAL TIME 07:06 GMT 0015 www.spa.gov.sa/w1573092
