Riyadh, Aug 6, 2021, SPA -- Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) for Arab States, Dr. Nayef Falah Mubarak Al-Hajraf welcomed the United Nations' resolution appointing the Swedish diplomat Hans Grundberg as the new UN Special Envoy for Yemen to succeed Martin Griffiths. Dr. Al-Hajraf stressed the role of the UN envoy to Yemen in supporting regional and international efforts to reach the political solution sought by the Council, in accordance with the Gulf initiative and its executive mechanism; the outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference and Security Council Resolution 2216.
