OIC Secretary General Calls for Providing Humanitarian Aid through OIC's Mission in Kabul

Jeddah, December 20, 2021, SPA -- The Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Hussein Ibrahim Taha, expressed his thanks to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Chairman of the 14th session of the Islamic Summit, for its initiative to call for this important meeting, which comes within the framework of its firm commitment to support solidarity and joint Islamic action. He also thanked the Government of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and its people for hosting the conference and for the generous hospitality and kindness of the participants, affirming their full commitment to supporting the causes of the Islamic Ummah and their keenness to enhance security and peace in the region. This came in his speech during the launch of OIC's 17th session of the extraordinary meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) of Member States, which was held in Islamabad, Pakistan. The Secretary-General called on all Afghan parties to work to advance the interest of Afghan people, protect lives, renounce violence and establish lasting peace in order to achieve the aspirations of Afghan people and their hopes for stability, decent living and prosperity, affirming OIC's support to the peace process in Afghanistan, expressing the organization's full readiness to cooperate with regional and international efforts aimed at achieving peace for Afghan people, to harness all its potentials to achieve peace, security and stability in Afghanistan, and to make the necessary contacts in this regard. -- SPA 04:52 LOCAL TIME 01:52 GMT 0001 www.spa.gov.sa/w1667461
