International Anti-Corruption Day 2021 Forum Concludes

Riyadh, December 9, 2021, SPA -- The 10th annual forum, organized virtually by the Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority (Nazaha), under the theme “Digitizing government services to enhance integrity and transparency”, has concluded with the participation of several experts from government and private institutions. Nazaha Vice President for Protecting Integrity and Supervisor on Oversight, Investigation and Combating Corruption Dr. Bandar Aba Al-Khail inaugurated the sessions of the forum, where he stressed that celebrating the International Anti-Corruption Day is based on the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s participation in efforts to raise awareness against the threats of corruption on the world, where the only means to eliminate corruption is through the cooperation of all locally and internationally. Dr. Aba Al-Khail said: “The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has proven its political and economic status among all countries of the world through its presidency of the exceptional summit of the G20 in 2020, and contributing to intensifying efforts that resulted in the Riyadh Initiative that aims at enhancing cooperation among law enforcement institutions concerned with combating corruption, which marked a new era for all countries in fighting corruption.” For his part, Regional Director of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime in Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) for Arab States Judge Hatem Ali praised the leading role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by Nazaha, in stimulating regional and international cooperation among anti-corruption organizations through the Riyadh Initiative, commending the effecting partnership with Nazaha and its relentless efforts to develop the national anti-corruption system through capacity building programs it offers for stakeholders and its qualitative partnership with the UN. Discussions during the forum, which attracted several government officials in two sessions, included digital transformation to enhance integrity, transparency and anti-corruption, digital transformation in Saudi Vision 2030, in addition to reviewing successful practices and experiments in digitizing government services, artificial intelligence, and digital analysis to enhance integrity, transparency and anti-corruption efforts. Holding the forum emanates from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's keenness to join the international community the celebrations of the International Anti-Corruption Day 2021 and is part of Nazaha’s endeavors to activate international partnership concerned with agreements in the fields of protecting integrity and anti-corruption through organizing regional and international conferences that can boost cooperation and exchange of expertise in anti-corruption fields. --SPA 16:39 LOCAL TIME 13:39 GMT 0015 www.spa.gov.sa/w1662923
