Ministry of Justice Approves Code of Professional Conduct for Lawyers

Riyadh, September 04, 2021, SPA -- The Ministry of Justice approved the code of professional conduct for lawyers and the amendments on the executive regulations for the law system. The code is expected to protect lawyers, clients and all other involved parties as well as enhance transparency and define responsibilities for lawyers. The code rules were explained in eight chapters, covering a wide range of definitions and procedures. Some of those rules focused on the lawyers themselves, their integrity, ability to evolve and develop, stay professional with clients, stay updated with latest rules and regulation. Other rules defined the contractual aspects of the relationship with clients, maintaining clients’ confidentiality and privacy, others covered the financial aspects and taking into consideration the social and financial conditions of clients. Other chapters of the code covered case proceedings to ensure smooth and efficient case representation in courts without delay or interruptions in order to restore justice in a timely manner.
