Saudi Arabia, Russia Sign Agreement for Cooperation in Military Field

Kubinka, Russia, Aug. 24, 2021, SPA -- The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Russian Federation signed in the Russian city of Kubinka on Monday an agreement for cooperation in the military field as part of the two governments continuous effort to develop bilateral relations between them in a way that encourages international peace and stability. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was represented by Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Minister of Defense, while the Russian Federation was represented by Lieutenant-General Alexander Fomin, Deputy Minister of Defense. Prior to signing the agreement, Prince Khalid had a meeting with the Russian Minister of Defense during which issues of common interest were discussed. Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz also met today with each of the Chairman of the Federal Authority for Military-Technical Cooperation Dmitry Shugaev; Russian Deputy Foreign Minister and Presidential Special Envoy for the Middle East and Africa Mikhail Bogdanov, and Chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs Leonid Slutsky. During the meetings, they reviewed bilateral relations between the two friendly countries, and areas of military and defense cooperation. They also discussed the latest developments in the region and issues of common interest. Deputy Minister of Defense and his accompanying delegation left the Russian Federation this evening, heading for the Kingdom.
