Heads of Security Media Agencies of Arab Information Ministries Hold Joint Meeting in Tunisia

Tunis, June 17, 2021, SPA -- Representatives of various media sectors discussed today during a meeting held at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers in Tunisian, a draft code of conduct related to media handling of terrorist incidents and a draft strategy related to media dealing with issues of extremism and terrorism. The meeting was attended by heads of security media agencies and representatives of Arab ministries of information, with the participation of heads of security media agencies in Arab interior ministries, in addition to representatives from the Arab League, the Arab Radio and Broadcasting Union and Naif Arab University for Security Sciences, Saudi Broadcasting Authority. In his opening speech, the Assistant Secretary-General of the Arab Interior Ministers’ Council Khalid Hilal Al-Maamari stressed that the meeting stressed the importance of the media and its role in security awareness and crime prevention, as well as its keenness to establish an effective partnership between the security media and other media agencies in a way that ensures unifying efforts to protect Arab countries from any possible threats, not only at the security level but also at the cultural, social, health and economic levels.
