Riyadh, June 29, 2021, SPA -- The Royal Institute of Traditional Arts launched its visual identity, combining the heritage of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, its ancient architectural design and traditional Arabic calligraphy style, and reflecting the institute's interest in preserving the legacy and history of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The logo features the name of the institute written in Riqa and Madani calligraphy styles, surrounded by a traditional postage stamp due to its nostalgic connection with Saudis and its symbolic representation of their identity and belonging. The postage stamp comes with graded and rough sides as an expression of architectural styles of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its traditional crafts. To mark the occasion, Acting Director General of the Royal Institute of Traditional Arts Dr. Suzan Mohammad Al-Yahya said that the Institute's logo reflects the Institute's mission to introduce the traditional arts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia locally and internationally with a symbolism inspired by ancient postage stamps. The logo was illustrated by drawing inspired by the immaculate Madani calligraphy style, as an expression of the institute's royalty and the sophistication of our traditional arts. Decreed last March by the Cabinet in alignment with the Saudi Vision 2030, the institute was launched as part of initiatives of the Ministry of Culture and its affiliated Quality of Life program to contribute to the widescale development of the cultural sector of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Through its various activities, the institute aims to highlight the Saudi national identity, raise public awareness and promote a wide range of Saudi cultural attractions at the global level. These activities will encourage Saudis to learn and practice traditional arts as life skills that enable everybody, particularly students and graduates, to preserve and develop the rich cultural heritage of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. --SPA 19:03 LOCAL TIME 16:03 GMT 0036 www.spa.gov.sa/w1578484
