Riyadh, May 24, 2021, SPA -- Transportation sector achieved several accomplishments in specialized global measurement indicators during the past years. These achievements were in many fields that serve the Kingdom's Vision 2030 and its aspirations that aim towards making the Kingdom a global logistics hub. One of the most notable achievements is the Kingdom's ability to rank first globally in road network connectivity, as reported by the Global Competitiveness Forum in its 2019's report. Moreover, ranking first place in vibration warning technology as reported by the Statistical Centre for the Cooperation Council for the Arab Countries of the Gulf in its 2020's report. In Maritime transport, the transportation system ranked first on the level of Arab countries and the 20th on the global level in fleet tonnage, according to the UNCTAD's Trade and Development Report 2020. Furthermore, the system itself increased the quality standards relevant to handling the ships and containers arriving in the Kingdom, resulting in the Kingdom's ability to rank 5th on globally. In aviation, the system of transportation continued to accomplish its achievements as three of the Kingdom's airports ranked highly, according to Skytrax's 2020 report. Moreover, the national flag carrier, Saudi Arabian Airlines, was classified as a platinum class in maintaining health and safety, according to Airline Passenger Experience Association (APEX) 2020 report. Also, APEX ranked Saudi Arabian Airlines as a five-star global airline.
