Algeria Extends Lockdown for 10 Days to Limit COVID-19 Spread

Algiers, Aug. 05, 2021, SPA -- Algerian authorities announced today that the lockdown currently enforced in the country to help limiting the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) has been extended for a period of ten days, starting today. The lockdown includes, 37 governorates, and extends from 8 PM until 6 AM, said the statement, adding that the decision also suspends urban and rail transport, during the weekly holidays, as well as the activities of weekly markets, recreational and cultural halls. --SPA 18:41 LOCAL TIME 15:41 GMT 0028 www.spa.gov.sa/w1597193
