Arab Parliament Discusses Conditions in Yemen, Houthi Militia’s Continuous Terrorist Acts against Saudi Arabia

Cairo, October 14, 2021, SPA -- The Arab Parliament’s Committee of Political, Foreign and National Security Affairs has discussed the latest developments in Yemen and the continuous terrorist acts perpetrated by the Houthi militia towards the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. In its report, the Committee condemned the recurrent terrorist operations of the Houthi militia towards the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with the use of bomb-laden UAVs, where the Committee also condemned the recurrent targeting of Abha International Airport and civil and economic objects in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, stressing that these acts represent a clear violation to the international peace and security. The Committee renewed its solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and support for whatever procedures it takes to defend its territories and maintain the safety and security of its citizens and residents. The Committee also approved the cybersecurity draft law as a pilot law for Arab countries in dealing with this subject that is the top priority in the present. Head of the Foreign Affairs Committee at the Shura Council and member of the Arab parliament Assaf bin Salem Abu Thaneen, in a statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) following the Committee’s meeting, said that the Committee discussed several issues, mainly the cybersecurity and approving the draft pilot law for cybersecurity. He also noted that the Committee has received some remarks on the draft law from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, the UAE, Tunisia, Qatar, Kuwait, Libya and Jordan, which were considered while drafting the law, as this reflects these countries’ keenness to coordinate and support Arab efforts related to the cybersecurity. --SPA 15:14 LOCAL TIME 12:14 GMT 0011 www.spa.gov.sa/w1635258
