Islamic Affairs Ministry Carries out over 189,000 Inspection Tours to Follow up Precautionary Measures Implementation

Riyadh, April 05, 2021, SPA -- The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance has carried out 22,102 inspection tours during the ninth week of following up the implementation of precautionary measures and health protocols adopted by the Ministry in coordination with competent authorities to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. According to the weekly report issued today by the Ministry's Agency for Mosques Affairs, the total inspection tours that the Ministry has carried out until the ninth week reached 189,950 tours in order to achieve the highest standards of safety in the mosques of Saudi Arabia. The report indicated that the ministry detected 141 violations of preventive measures, which were immediately addressed, noting that violations that were detected varied between not wearing face masks and not bringing personal prayer rugs, in addition to not implementing physical distancing. The ministry has also reported lax in implementing preventive and precautionary measures in 1,622 mosques in Saudi Arabia and immediate procedures were implemented to address these issues.
