Jeddah, June 8, 2021, SPA -- The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will join tomorrow celebrations of the World Accreditation Day, which is annually celebrated on June 9, in a bid to enhance its presence at the international level to shed light on the importance and awareness of accreditation for its being a specialized activity in fortifying the industrial and economic process, developing the production quality and consumer protection requirements, and protecting public health and safety, which reflects the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s future trends according to the Saudi Vision 2030. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia paid attention to the role and importance of accreditation through establishing the Saudi Accreditation Center in 2019 to contribute to enhancing quality infrastructure by offering accreditation services to agencies concerned with matching standards inside and outside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and to enhancing Saudi Arabia’s competitive character through facilitating the flow of goods via mutual recognition of accreditation certificates issued by matching standards agencies at the center and certified counterparts in other countries. In addition to offering accreditation services to agencies of matching standards, the Saudi Accreditation Center offers training services to specialists, memberships in relevant regional and international organizations and commissions, preparing and publishing studies, research and statistics related to its activities, organizing courses and conferences, in addition to working on implementing its tasks and responsibilities towards agencies of matching standards in full harmony with international trends in this field and relevant national initiatives. During its foundation phase, the center has realized several achievements, including preparing regulations, systems and policies that facilitate its work, developing its five-year plan to contribute effectively to moving the quality infrastructure of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the top countries in the world by 2030, preparing its infrastructure and technical structure, automating all its procedures and services and linking them with stakeholders.
