Riyadh, March 23, 2021, SPA -- Under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the 9th International Conference on Water Resources and Arid Environments is scheduled to be held on March 29-31, 2021. The event is organized by King Saud University (KSU), represented by Prince Sultan Institute for Environmental, Water and Desert Research; Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz International Prize for Water (PSIPW); Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Foundation; and Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture. These remarks were made by Dr. Abdulmalek bin Abdulrahman Al Al-Sheikh, Head of the Higher Committee of the Conference, Director of the Institute and PSIPW Secretary General. On the occasion, Dr. Al Al-Sheikh expressed thanks and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for his patronage of the conference and attention to scientists and scientific research centers, in a bid to realize the goals of the Saudi Vision 2030 and to contribute to achieving the welfare of humanity worldwide. He pointed out that the conference, which will be held virtually this year, will attract a wide variety of winners of PSIPW to review creative solutions and winning innovations, their latest research papers and scientific productions, as well as several scientists and eminent personalities from inside and outside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to deliver lectures within the conference’s main aspects that include water resources, rationalization of water usage, arid environments, and the use of modern technologies in studying arid environments and their natural resources. The conference will also include holding a virtual exhibition with the participation of several government agencies and private sector companies. Dr. Al Al-Sheikh noted that the Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture Eng. Abdulrahman bin Abdulmohsen Al-Fadley is planned to inaugurate the conference on behalf of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, in the presence of KSU Rector and PSIPW Chairman Dr. Badran bin Abdulrahman Al-Omar.
