Riyadh, July 9, 2021, SPA -- Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of issues at local, regional and international arenas. Al-Riyadh newspaper reported in its editorial that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United States of America have strong relations over more than seven decades, during which they witnessed remarkable development in various fields. The two countries have strategic relations and common visions towards maintaining the international peace and security, the editorial said. In this regard, the visit made by Deputy Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman to the United States came to confirm and strengthen this partnership in the interest of the two countries, the editorial added. Prince Khalid bin Salman's talks with the US Secretary of Defense, U.S. Secretary of State, the National Security Adviser and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff discussed the aspects of joint strategic cooperation in military and defense fields, the editorial further added. The talks highlighted the joint vision between the two countries in supporting security and stability and defending common interests in addition to confronting extremism and terrorism, the editorial concluded. Al-Bilad newspaper reported in its editorial that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia provides great support for the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) due to its vital role in enhancing the dialogue and cooperation among Arab nations. Electing Hani Al Moqbil, Saudi Arabia's representative and member of ALECSO's Executive Council, as the chairman of the Executive Council in its new session has reflected Saudi Arabia's unremitting support for education, science and culture, the paper added. Al-Yaum newspaper reported in its editorial that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has provided various services and unremitting support for pilgrims and Umrah performers since its foundation until now. Saudi Arabia has adopted security, traffic, emergency and organizational plans in addition to transportation mechanism between the holy sites, in order to achieve security and safety for pilgrims so that they can perform Hajj rituals in comfort and tranquility, the paper added.
