Khartoum, Dec 31, 2020, SPA – Omer Gamaruddin, Sudan’s acting foreign minister, announced here today the end of mandate of the United Nations and African Union’s joint Mission in Darfur (UNAMID). In a press conference, he said that by the end of today December 31st the page of UNAMID troops and police personnel in Sudan has folded after 13 years of operations in the country. He added that the peacekeeping force will start withdrawing as of tomorrow.
