Jeddah, April 18, 2021, SPA -- The Islamic Research and Training Institute (IRTI) of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) released today a report on the progress of the 57 member states of the IsDB in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The report entitled "Reaching the SDGs: Progress of IsDB Member Countries", indicated that despite the progress made by the IsDB member states in achieving SDGs, it still has a long way to go if it's want to achieve the goals by 2030. The overall SDG Index score of IsDB member states reached 61 points, suggesting that IsDB, as a group, is just over 60 percent of the way to achieving the 17 SDGs, the report added. IRTI Acting Director General Dr. Sami Al-Suwailem pointed out that the report comes within the efforts of IsDB by providing data-driven evidence to guide the Bank's interventions in member states through a comprehensive presentation of the progress made to SDGs. Dr. Al-Suwailem indicated that the report shows that member states still face various challenges in achieving SDGs. --SPA 13:09 LOCAL TIME 10:09 GMT 0014 www.spa.gov.sa/w1544995
