Riyadh, September 28, 2020, SPA -- The official spokesperson of the Presidency of State Security said in a statement today that the competent authorities at the Presidency thwarted a terrorist cell on 05/02/1442H, whose elements received a military and field training on how to make explosives, at the Revolutionary Guard's sites in Iran, during the period from 09/02/1439H to 20/03/1439H. Security investigations revealed the elements' identities as well as two sites used by the elements to store weapons and explosives. The security operation resulted in the following: First: Arresting 10 elements of this cell, where three of them received training in Iran, while the rest have performed different roles for the cell. The interest of the investigation requires not to disclose the identities of those elements arrested. Second: Seizing weapons and explosives hidden in a house and a farm, as follows: -Nine Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs). -67 explosive fuses. -51 explosive stun guns. -Large quantity of capacitors, electrical transformers and electronic resistors that are used in making explosives. -5.28 kg of gunpowder. -17 cans containing chemicals. -13 electrical signal transmitters and receivers. -Two circuit switches. -4 advanced eavesdropping devices. -One welding machine. -4 Kalashnikov guns. -One G3 rifle. -One sniper rifle. -Two pistols. -One Hunting air gun. -4620 live ammunition. -18 magazines for machine gun and pistol. -6 inch homemade plastic container for weapons. - One bag containing weapon cleaning equipment. -14 knifes. - Military uniforms. -Two sniper scope. -One night vision scope. -3 wireless communication devices. -One laptop. -Two Garmin mapping devices. -One sunglasses equipped with a camera, storage memory and battery. -11 mobile phones. -Two tablets. -Five external storage memories, and six internal storage memories. The competent authorities are investigating all arrested elements to find out more information about their activities and the persons connected to them in the Kingdom and abroad, and then referring them to the judiciary.
