Riyadh, January 25, 2021, SPA -- The Executive Committee Secretariat of the Saudi-Emirati Coordination Council has held a virtual meeting under the chairmanship of Deputy Minister of Economy and Planning and Secretary of the Committee Faisal bin Fadel Al-Ibrahim; and Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure for Energy and Oil Affairs and Secretary of the Committee from the United Arab Emirates side Eng. Sharif Salim Al-Olama, in the presence of a number of officials and members of the committee from the two sides. The meeting discussed several topics related to the council’s future and the desired objectives of its second term as well as the future road map for the council’s second term, stressing the importance of supporting the role of the private sector consultative committee and the vital role of the private sector in promoting economic cooperation. It also reviewed initiatives launched between both countries during Al-Azm retreats, which were held in Riyadh and Abu Dhabi. Al-Ibrahim affirmed Saudi Arabia’s keenness to maintain ties with the UAE, the largest partner in the region, praising the ideal model of the Saudi-Emirati Coordination Council for bilateral cooperation. For his part, Eng. Al-Olama considered the partnership with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as one of the utmost importance, a matter of interest and follow-up by the leadership of the UAE.
