First Batch of Saudi Humanitarian Air Bridge to Lebanon Arrive in Beirut

Beirut, August 07, 2020, SPA -- The first batch of the Saudi humanitarian air bridge to Lebanon arrived in here today, coming as an implementation of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud directives, through the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) and lasts for four days to help those affected by the explosion of Beirut Port. The aid that arrived by air, via two planes to Beirut International Airport, was received by Lebanese Interior Minister Mohammed Fahmi and Saudi Ambassador to Lebanon Walid bin Abdullah Bukhari, accompanied by a specialized team from the KSrelief. The KSrelief team will distribute the aid to the affected sites in Beirut in the coming hours. It weighs 120 tons, including artificial respirators, intensive care devices, electronic intravenous pumps, ambulatory supplies, multiple medicines, antibiotics and analgesics, antiseptics and sterilizers, masks and protective materials, intravenous solutions and pumping tubes, various medical supplies, food supplies, and shelter supplies such as tents, mattresses, blankets, and cooking supplies. In a press statement, the Lebanese Minister of Interior extended his sincere appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, and the people of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the support provided to relief the victims of the explosion, pointing out that since 60 years, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has been supporting Lebanon in various fields. -- SPA 17:22 LOCAL TIME 14:22 GMT 0007 www.spa.gov.sa/w1386755
