Saudi Relief Plane Arrives in Sudan to Help People Affected by Torrential Rains and Flooding

Khartoum, September 01, 2020, SPA -- In implementation of the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, a Saudi relief plane arrived in the Sudanese capital Khartoum yesterday, operated by King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), as part of an urgent response to help the Sudanese people affected by torrential rains and flooding that struck Sudan recently. The plane carried 90 tons of shelter and food aid, including 300 tents, 300 shelter bags, 1,800 blankets, 210 food baskets and 40 tons of dates. The aid will be distributed by Al-Eghtinam Human Development Organization, KSrelief’s local implementing partner, in coordination with the Saudi Arabia’s embassy in Khartoum, benefiting 31,980 individuals in Sudan. This aid comes within the framework of the assistance provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by KSrelief, to support the brotherly Sudanese people in different circumstances and difficulties. --SPA 10:21 LOCAL TIME 07:21 GMT 0004 www.spa.gov.sa/w1402019
