Riyadh, Dec 27, 2020, SPA -- The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia launched today a package of development projects to support Yemen, in the presence of a number of Yemeni ministers, including Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Waed Abdullah Badhib, Minister of Finance Salem Saleh bin Braik, Minister of Public Health and Population Qassim Mohammed Buhaibh, Minister of Transport Dr. Abdulsalam Saleh Hamid Hadi and Minister of Public Works and Roads Mane Yasslam Bayameen. The contracts were signed by Saudi Ambassador to Yemen Mohammed bin Saeid Al Jaber, who is also the General Supervisor of the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY). The contract signing ceremony was held at SDRP Headquarters in Riyadh and attended by a number of Saudi and Yemeni officials, ambassadors to Yemen and representatives of international organizations. During the contract signing ceremony, three mega Saudi projects in Yemen were signed covering health, education and transport sectors in three Yemeni governorates. These projects include establishing King Salman Medical and Educational City in Mahara at a cost of SR 213,000,000, rehabilitating Aden International Airport at a cost of SR 54,400,000 and rehabilitating Alabr road in Marib at the cost of SR 36,000,000. SDRPY General Supervisor Ambassador Mohammed bin Saeed Al Jaber said that "the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia believes in the importance of meeting the needs of various Yemeni vital sectors. Therefore, we are always keen on coordinating with Yemeni local authorities and cooperating with our partners from Saudi bodies and international organizations to unify efforts to develop Yemen and make these projects successful that will contribute to achieving development prosperity and promoting peace in Yemen."
