Riyadh, Sep 1, 2020, SPA -- The Secretariat General of King Faisal Prize announced here today opening for submission of nominations to win the 44th edition of the award's five branches, in 2022. Secretary General of King Faisal Prize Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Sabeel pointed out that the prize committees annually decide the scientific subject of each of its 4-branches. The subject for the Islamic studies is set to be on Andalusian Islamic Heritage, while the theme of the Arabic language and literature will be on Arabic literature studies, written in English. In terms of the Medicine prize, the subject is Genes' Modifications Techniques. As for the Science prize, it shall be on mathematics. For the Prize of Serving Islam, the fifth, which is an appreciation (recognition) award, will be accorded to any pioneer role played to serve Islam and Muslims, either intellectually, scientifically, socially or through various workings, several activities, programs and projects (enterprises) with positive impact on the Muslim community. The right to nominate is limited to bodies such as institutions, scientific centers (think tanks) and universities. The declared period for nomination is 7-month, with a deadline set by March 2021.
