Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques holds official talks with Prime Minister of Iraq

Jeddah, Sep. 25, 2019, SPA -- The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud held official talks here today with visiting Prime Minister of the Republic of Iraq Adil Abdul-Mahdi. At the outset of the meeting, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques welcomed the Iraqi Prime Minister, noting the strong ties binding the two countries and peoples. During the talks, they reviewed the latest developments in the region, including the recent sabotage of Saudi oil facilities in Biqaiq and Khurais. For his part, the Prime Minister affirmed the solidarity of the Republic of Iraq with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its keenness on the security and stability of the Kingdom. The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques praised the Prime Minister's remarks, condemning once again the brutal bombing which took place in the province of Karbala, Iraq, and extending his condolence to the Prime Minister, the Iraqi people and families of the victims, wishing the injured a speedy recovery. During the talks, the two sides stressed the importance of enhancing bilateral cooperation in various fields and continuing consultation and coordination in all that serves their common security and interests. The audience was attended by Prince Khalid Al-Faisal bin Abdulaziz, Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Governor of Makkah Region; Prince Mansour bin Miteb bin Abdulaziz, Minister of State, Member of the Cabinet and Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques; Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Interior; Dr. Musaed bin Mohammed Al-Aiban, Minister of State, Member of the Cabinet and National Security Advisor; Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al Qasabi, Minister of Commerce and Investment, who is also acting Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs; and Abdulaziz Al-Shammari, the Saudi ambassador to Iraq.
