Riyadh, Oct. 29, 2019, SPA -- A joint Communiqué was announced by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Swiss Confederation here today, which reads as follows: "At an invitation of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, President Ueli Maurer of the Swiss Confederation paid an official visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, on 27-29/10/2019. During the visit, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud received, at Al-Yamamah Palace, in Riyadh, the President of the Swiss Confederation Ueli Maurer, as the two sides held official talks, where they reviewed distinct bilateral relations binding the two friendly countries and peoples and means to promote them, in all fields, and exchanged points of view on a wide-range regional and international issues of common interest. In this context, the two sides reaffirmed their determination to promote high-level political consultations, in all fields, including human rights, in order to contribute to the maintenance of peace, stability and security, in the region and the world. They agreed to intensify contacts and cooperation between government officials and the private sector, in both countries, with a view to deepening and expanding bilateral economic and trade relations and encouraging the private sector and small and medium enterprises, in both countries, to invest and explore opportunities within the ambitious vision of Saudi Arabia Vision 2030. The two sides welcomed the mutual cooperation between the two countries, in the scientific, cultural, health, tourism, environmental, technological and technical sectors, which would contribute significantly to boosting the economic partnership between the two countries and pushing their relations to broader horizons. In this context, the two sides stressed the need to continue regular bilateral financial dialogue and activate cooperation within the framework of the Saudi-Swiss Joint Economic Committee. The two sides discussed issues of international peace and security, including extremism and terrorism. In the framework of constructive spirit of the meetings, political issues in the Middle East and the world were reviewed. The Saudi side appreciated the condemnation of the Swiss government and disapproval of the sabotage attacks on Saudi Aramco facilities, in Abqaiq and Khurais, in Saudi Arabia, in order to affect the international supplies of oil and the global economy. The two sides stressed the importance of regular dialogue on humanitarian assistance, development cooperation and transfer of knowledge and potentials, in these fields. In the field of international humanitarian law, the two sides agreed to promote regular exchange of views, on the best practices to promote international humanitarian law and to exchange experiences with national bodies, concerned with international humanitarian law, in the two countries. His Excellency President Oeli Maurer participated in the workings of the Forum for the Future of Investment Initiative, held in Riyadh, during the period from 28-30/ 10/2019.
