Cairo, December 17, 2018, SPA -- Dr. Mishaal bin Fahm Al-Salami, Speaker of the Arab Parliament, has demanded the US senate to refrain from interfering in the domestic affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia or defaming its leadership or tampering its status, it was reported here today. In a written message addressed to the US senate chairman, Al-Salami confirmed categorical rejection of the senate's decision which, he said, contradicts the principles of respect of sovereignty of countries and non-interference in their domestic affairs, citing the strategic and historic relations binding the Saudi and American countries and peoples. Al-Salami also cited his organization's resolution issued on December 11, in Cairo, affirming Arab parliament full solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and standing firm in the face of any attempt to tough it or threaten its being or harm its profile through blackmailing or using political pressure or repeating false accusations based on wrong or confusing information. He confirmed that such campaign would not weaken the leader of the Arab and Islamic nations, citing the firm positions of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, the Crown Prince, Vice President of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Defense. He praised the Kingdom's efforts to bring about security, enhance international cooperation at all political, economic and security levels and provide support for development projects in a region facing grave challenges and disorder. --SPA 20:08 LOCAL TIME 17:08 GMT 0019 www.spa.gov.sa/w806642
