Rome, Rabi'I 7, 1439, November 25, 2017, SPA -- Dr. Mohammed bin Amin Al-Jeffery, Deputy Speaker of the Shura Council of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, said that the Kingdom, led by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, has shown firm stance against terrorism, based on Islamic Sharia law and its locally-authored Islamic-derived regulations. This came in the speech Al-Jeffery delivered yesterday at the joint forum for the Mediterranean and Middle East group and sub-committee on security and defense partnership across the Atlantis held at the Italian parliament in Rome. Al-Jeffery drew the attention to the efforts exerted by the Kingdom in the fight of terrorism, citing the establishment of the Islamic military alliance to combat terrorism, hosting the U.S. Arab Islamic summit in May 2017, which issued historic decisions to fight the epidemic, and the establishment of Riyadh center for intellectual war to confront extremist thought. He said Saudi Arabia has endorsed all UN-sponsored agreements and pacts to fight terrorism in addition to tens of bilateral and international agreements on money laundering and terror finance, enacted a number of regulations in the process of combating the epidemic and put a number of terrorist organizations on the black list, led by Daesh, Hezbollah, Al-Qaeda and Houthis group. Proving that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is itself a target of terrorists, Al-Jeffery said it was subject to more than 100 terrorist operations since 1992, successfully foiled more than 260 terror operations and contributed, through providing and sharing intelligence information with the world partners, to saving the souls of many all over the world and provided $100 million in support of the international center for combating terrorism. --SPA 14:43 LOCAL TIME 11:43 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w545933
