Economic, Development Affairs' Council Reviews Various Issues

Riyadh, Rabi'I 17, 1439 H., December 05, 2017, SPA -- The Council for Economic and Development Affairs held a meeting, at Al-Yamamah Palace, here this afternoon. During the meeting, a number of issues related to the economy and development were discussed and appropriate recommendations over them, were taken, too. Among the reports presented to the meeting was one from the Ministry of Economy and Planning, which, in part, covers the 3rd quarter of the current year. It discussed a comprehensive round up of national as well as international economies, main developments in the macro-economics, in addition to the indicators of the GDP, monetary and fiscal performance, local and world stock exchanges, energy and labor markets, along with paramount future bound economic expectations. Another report discussed was submitted by the Ministry of Labor and Social Development related to the proposed Citizen's Account Program, including an overview of the entitlement and qualification policies to provide the targeted categories among the public with the oriented subsidies, in face of the direct as well as non-direct impacts, resulting from correcting energy prices and other economic reforms stipulated in the Fiscal Offset Program.
