Riyadh, Dhu-AlQa'dah 01, 1439, July 14, 2018, SPA -- The official spokesman of the coalition forces (coalition to restore legitimacy in Yemen) Col. Turki Al-Maliki stated that at 12:52, the Royal Saudi Air Defense detected the launch of ballistic missile by the Iranian-backed Houthi militia from Sa'ada governorate aimed at the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Col. Al-Maliki said that the missile was launched deliberately to target densely populated areas. The Royal Saudi Air Defense Forces managed to intercept and destroy it, resulting in the fall of fragments throughout some residential areas and no damage was caused. The spokesman added that this hostile act carried out by the Iranian-backed Houthi terrorist militia proves that the Iranian regime continues to be involved in supporting the Iranian-backed Houthi armed militias with qualitative capabilities in clear and explicit defiance of UN resolutions 2216 and 2231 in order to threaten the security of Saudi Arabia and the regional and international security.
