Brussels, Sha'ban 18, 1438, May 14, 2017, SPA -- NATO condemned Sunday the launch of a new ballistic missile test by North Korea as a "a new flagrant breach of a series of United Nations Security Council Resolutions, constituting a threat to international peace and security." "This is a time when de-escalation is needed, not provocation," said NATO spokesperson Oana Lungescu in a statement. The 28-member Alliance called on North Korea to comply with its international obligations, cease all activities related to its ballistic missile and nuclear programmes, and engage in a credible dialogue with the international community, KUNA reported. On his part, Belgian Foreign Affairs Minister Didier Reynders also condemned the new missile launch by North Korea as a new violation of the UN Security Council resolutions. "The North Korean ballistic missile program is a threat to regional and international security. It hinders the reopening of a dialogue and weakens the efforts in favor of disarmament and non-proliferation," he said in a statement. --SPA 20:48 LOCAL TIME 17:48 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w400872
