Berlin, Jumada I 07, 1438, February 04, 2017, SPA -- German President Joachim Gauck has called on Europe to make clear its opposition to US President Donald Trump's entry ban for citizens from seven predominantly Muslim countries, dpa reported. "We should speak out very clearly on this," Gauck said in an interview published Saturday in five European daily newspapers. "It is incompatible with our concepts of human dignity, equality and religious freedom." Speaking at Bellevue Palace, his official residence in Berlin, Gauck reiterated his commitment to the European project in an interview with newspapers NRC Handelsblad (The Netherlands), The Guardian (UK), Le Monde (France), La Stampa (Italy) and El Pais (Spain). Gauck has held the largely ceremonial role of German president since 2012 and is due to leave office in March this year. --SPA 14:18 LOCAL TIME 11:18 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w325325
