SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico, Rabi'I 20, 1438, December 19, 2016, SPA -- Eight people have been injured in a shooting at a popular outdoor restaurant in Puerto Rico's capital, AP reported. Police said two of the victims are in serious condition. The shooting occurred early Monday at El Rex in the Santurce neighborhood of San Juan. The restaurant is a popular hangout that gets especially crowded on Wednesday and Sunday nights. Business owners in the area were hosting a street festival to celebrate the holidays when the shooting occurred. The majority of those shot are in their 20s. Police said they believe one of the victims was targeted because he was recently arrested on federal drug charges and released on bond.
