Security Spokesman: Car Used in Terrorist Crimes Damaged, Two Individuals Killed

Jeddah, Ramadan 6, 1438, Jun 1, 2017, SPA -- The Security Spokesman of the Ministry of Interior said in a statement today that "As part of the process of following-up and tracking down terrorist activities that target the lives of innocent people and public property and are conducted in Al-Qatif Governorate by criminal gangs who made themselves a tool for executing external plans that aim at undermining the security and stability of this country, the security authorities spotted a Toyota Sequoia car at 5:00 pm on Thursday (06/09/1438H) on King Abdulaziz Street in Al-Qatif Governorate, which was reported stolen on 08/04/1438H and used in committing terrorist and criminal crimes. The security authorities took necessary action in such a situation. The car was damaged, caught fire and exploded. As a result, two individuals in the car were killed. Investigation is underway to reveal the identity of those two individuals. No citizens, expatriates or security personnel were harmed. Preliminary inspection revealed firearms and ammunition in the car explosion site, some of which exploded as a result of the fire.
