New York, Dhu-AlHijjah 18, 1437, Sep 20, 2016, SPA -- The 71st annual session of the General Assembly of the United Nations is kicked off today with participation of heads of states, governments and delegations. Crown Prince Mohammed bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior, led the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's delegation to the meeting. Upon arrival, the Crown Prince was received by UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon. Memorial photos for the heads of states and delegation were taken. Then, Peter Thompson, chairman of the 71st session of the UN general assembly, announced opening works of the session.
