Kabul, Dhu-AlQa'dah 29, 1437, Sep 1, 2016, SPA -- Afghan security forces were Thursday in a stand-off with militants holed up in a school in a town south of Kabul, dpa cited officials as saying. "Seven militants who took up positions in a school near the centre of Charkh have been killed so far," said Salim Saleh, spokesman for the governor of Logar province. He said another 12 militants, one Afghan police officer and one Afghan soldier had also been injured in the incident, which began when the militants blew up a vehicle packed with explosives in the centre of Charkh.
