MADRID, Shawwal 22, 1436, Aug 7, 2015, SPA -- Officials said wildfires fanned by strong winds have forced the evacuation of more than 1,400 people from two towns and two campsites in southwestern Spain, AP reported. The Extremadura regional government said the people were evacuated from the towns of Acebo and Perales del Puerto early Friday and given lodging in the nearby city of Caceres. The Agricultural Ministry said it had sent four water-carrying planes and a helicopter to help extinguish the fire in the Sierra de Gata mountain area. There were no reports of anyone injured. The ministry says forest fires have destroyed some 52,000 hectares (128,000 acres) so far this year, compared to some 46,000 hectares (114,000 acres) burned in all of 2014. --SPA 11:21 LOCAL TIME 08:21 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
