At least 12 dead in southern France after storms prompt flooding

Paris, Dhu-AlHijjah 20, 1436, October 04, 2015, SPA -- At least 12 people are dead after severe storms resulted in flooding in southern France, according to reports by AFP Sunday. The flooding primarily struck communities along the French Riviera, which runs along the country's Mediterranean coast. The town of Mandeliue-la Napoule alone had five deaths, reported AFP, citing local officials, dpa reported. The victims are presumed to have died while they were trying to bring their cars into safety. The town of Vallauris-Golfe-Juan also reported three dead. They died trying to get through a flooded tunnel, reported AFP.
