Jakarta, Ramadan 29, 1436, July 16, 2015, SPA -- Aid has been sent to three districts in Indonesia's remote province of Papua after harsh weather conditions left 11 people dead this month, reports said Thursday, according to dpa. Rice, blankets, and medicines along with health workers were flown to the districts of Kuyawage, Wanua Barat and Gua Balim on Wednesday, Papua government official Christian Siholait said, according to the Tempo.co news website. "Residents are not prepared to face the current extreme weather," Siholait said. Eleven people had died from cold and starvation since early this month, Papua police spokesman Rudolf Patrige said. The region experienced several days of hail around July 10 and temperatures as low as minus 3 degrees Celcius that damaged crops. --SPA 13:08 LOCAL TIME 10:08 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
