WASHINGTON, Jumada I 28, 1436, March 19, 2015, SPA -- The coalition battling the ISIS launched 11 airstrikes against the militant group in Iraq during a 24-hour period, while U.S. forces led two airstrikes in Syria, the Combined Joint Task Force said Wednesday. The task force said in a statement that U.S. fighters attacked an ISIS tunnel system and fighting position near AlHasaka in Syria, and struck an ISIS tactical unit and fighting position near Kobani. Most of the strikes in Iraq took place near Ramadi. Five there hit two ISIS bridges, a tactical unit, and an excavator, and also destroyed a sniper position and vehicle, the statement said. According to the task force, a strike near Kirkuk also destroyed two excavators, while two airstrikes near Mosul destroyed six excavators.
