Sharm el-Sheikh, Jumada II 5, 1436, Mar 25, 2015, SPA -- Yemen's Foreign Minister Riyadh Yasin Abdullah called today for urgent Arab military intervention to resolve the country's current crisis. Following his meeting with Arab League Secretary General Nabil Al-Arabi, Abdullah warned in remarks to reporters against "dangerous repercussions facing Yemen's stability in this period." Abdullah emphasized, at the same time, that Yemen's President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi will participate in the upcoming Arab League Summit to be hosted by Cairo next Saturday. The minister added that Yemen needs urgent intervention from all Arab countries to save the country, noting he briefed Al-Arabi on the dangerous escalation by Houthis aiming to bring down Aden and other cities. This will complete the Iranian-Houthi control over the whole country, he noted. "We asked the Arab League for political and military intervention. A special meeting on Yemen will be held tomorrow on the sidelines of the Arab Foreign Ministers' gathering," Abdullah said. "We also will ask the upcoming summit for urgent intervention," he said, noting Al-Arabi understood this demand as the country is witnessing a hazardous crisis. --SPA 17:33 LOCAL TIME 14:33 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
