Beijing, Rajab 25 1436 AH, May 14 2015, SPA -- Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in China early Thursday where he visited the Terracotta Warriors exhibition in President Xi Jinping's home province, ahead of summit talks expected to focus on economic ties between the two Asian giants, dpa reported. "It is very rare for Chinese leaders to accompany foreign guests outside Beijing," the state-run China Daily reported, with pictures showing Modi being shown round the world-famous exhibit in Xian in Shaanxi province, at the start of his three-day visit. China is investing heavily in a "New Silk Road" project to ease access to markets in Central Asia and Europe. Modi was due to meet Xi later Thursday, with formal talks set for Friday in Beijing. India and China are expected to sign 20 business deals worth about 10 billion dollars during the visit. China is India's biggest trading partner with commerce between the two countries totalling 71 billion dollars in 2014. India's trade deficit with China has plunged from 1 billion in 2001-02 to more than 38 billion dollars in 2014. --SPA 13:44 LOCAL TIME 10:44 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
