Prince Mohammed bin Saud bin Khalid continued, "We look forward to a wider cooperation between the Kingdom and Japan in new areas such as renewable energy and water. The great future challenge facing humanity now is in the areas of energy and water. Despite the importance of the material aspects of relations between the countries, the peoples' relationship is the foundation." He added, "We hope to expand our cooperation in other areas, to include joint programs at the level of the two friendly peoples, increasing the bonds of the links between us, such as the diversification of cultural programs in a clear cultural project, intensifying the exchange of visits and benefiting from modern communication technologies which provide many forms of communication, not only among peoples but also for dialogue and participation in views and aspirations, in what has become known as public or popular diplomacy." Then, Prince Mohammed bin Saud bin Khalid answered journalists' questions confirming keenness of the Kingdom and its quest to transfer technology to it, citing sending more than 800 students to Japan with most of them studying in engineering and scientific disciplines "to transfer this technology, sciences and knowledge to our country." He noted that the Kingdom works and urges the training of many of these students at Japanese companies, including, for example the automobile industry technology as the kingdom has a lot of experiences with many developed countries. In response to a question about the policy of the kingdom, he said, "The policy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is firm and has not changed since the reign of the late King Abdulaziz and the kingdom is working and keen on opening up to the world. The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz ... has been working since he took office on confirming that the kingdom is continuing its foreign policy and preserving it interests." He said that "the kingdom refuses anyone's interference in its internal affairs and Arabs are able to solve their problems, and we are working with all countries of the world with international norms under the umbrella of the United Nations, the Arab League and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and our policy will continue as is." --More 00:11 LOCAL TIME 21:11 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
